Gay marriage, presidential candidates and Goliath grouper all have a way of dividing people. Folks tend to set up camp on one side or the other of the pro/con line and refuse to budge, preferring instead to yell insults at each other. This accomplishes little in bringing about a resolution, but it certainly does build team spirit, which must be good for something.
