Design and construction plans necessary to remove a runway protection zone from above 24 homes northwest of Venice Municipal Airport are being delayed another year.

The delay is due to an environmental assessment expected to begin later this year. The assessment will take 12 to 18 months to complete, said Airport Administrator Chris Rozansky.
