Artwork created by the late Ruth Spies, a painter, jewelry maker, photographer and long time columnist for the Punta Gorda Herald, was on sale during Gallery Walk at Creations Gallery. Husband Jack kept smiles as he kept watch over her wares. Owner Nina Sedule-Ross made sure that all proceeds from the sale were donated to Moffitt Cancer Foundation in honor of Spies.

The Gallery Walk on Feb. 16 was a celebration of the arts. In addition to live music and galleries displaying the works of local artists,
the February event featured five of the stars for the upcoming Dancing with the Charlotte Stars event who were looking for potential votes
before the performance, set for March 2 at the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center. The Visual Art Center was also on hand,
promoting its free eighth biennial National Art Exhibition, which is open until March 11. And seen strolling through downtown
Punta Gorda was T. Francis Wada, the maestro from the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra.
