Volunteers needed for ‘Bowls of Hope’ event
NORTH PORT — All Faiths Food Bank, the city of North Port, the North Port Art Center and Vision North Port are looking for volunteers to help with “Bowls of Hope on the Green” from noon to 3 p.m. March 4 on the City Center Green in front of North Port City Hall, 4970 City Hall Blvd., off Sumter Boulevard. For a $25 donation, attendees will receive a handcrafted ceramic bowl to keep and be able to enjoy three soup tastings donated by local restaurants and organizations. In addition to soup, the event will include entertainment by Three of a Kind, a local band; a bounce house for children; beverages; breads, pastries and cookies; and a raffle. Proceeds from the event benefit All Faiths Food Bank in Sarasota, dedicated to fighting hunger in the community.
