ENGLEWOOD —
Supporters of the long-awaited, $9 million plan for the construction of a stormwater system using Low Impact Design technology along Dearborn Street, west of State Road 776, received good news Tuesday.

As expected, Sarasota County commissioners approved a 2011-12 budget amendment to move $800,000 for this pilot low impact design (LID) project. The money will come from the Englewood
Community Redevelopment Area fund balance and will be used as matching funds for a Southwest Florida Water Management District grant.
