On Feb. 10, the Arcadia Village Quilters Club donated 45 handmade lap quilts, sometimes called “prayer quilts,” to Tidewell Hospice. These quilts help comfort Tidewell patients, and the quilters’ gifts have become an annual tradition. According to DeSoto County Volunteer Coordinator Melissa Sica, this group has contributed nearly 200 quilts.

Dianne Snyder and Johanna Clift started Arcadia Village Quilters Club 10 years ago, and the group has grown to 20 quilters. They get together to sew quilts, plan projects, take field trips and exchange ideas while creating gifts of comfort for Tidewell patients. Why did they choose to support Tidewell?
