DESOTO COUNTY — On Feb. 9, Max Finberg, the United States Department of Agriculture’s director of Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, visited DeSoto County to tour a community of homes under construction for farm workers and other low-income families.

Finberg toured the development, funded through the Catholic Diocese of Venice, with Frank J. Dewane, Bishop of the diocese, Peter Routsis-Arroyo, chief executive officer of the Venice diocese and Rick Miller with National Development of America, the community’s builder.
