Chamber showcase puts local businesses on display

Fran Taley says a new program, "Cooking Matters: Arcadia," is coming to town to teach low-income adults, children and caregivers about how to prepare nutritional meals on a tight budget. Brent Bookwalter of Precise Payroll bounces some beachballs at his company's booth. Their slogan is, "We make payroll so simple, it's like a walk on the beach." This was one of about 50 displays from local retail and commercial businesses in DeSoto County.

ARCADIA — Close to 50 businesses came out Tuesday afternoon to the Turner Agri-Civic Center to display their goods and services at the DeSoto Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Business Showcase.

“They get the opportunity to really talk to potential customers,” chamber board member Kristen Spahr said.
